We have chosen to use the song 'Polly put the Kettle On' in our final piece. The band Kitty Daisy & Lewis are a rockabilly/indie style group that have not (yet) hit the mainstream, and so we feel they appeal to our target audience.
We have decided to challenge usual music video concepts and go for a more 'off the wall' comical style that other small bands and underground artists use. We are filming the whole video at my Grandma's house so we can make the most of the various vintage props and bric-a-brac she has, and the retro setting will also fit with the music style brilliantly.
The concept is fairly abstract; an old woman leaves her house and dog whilst she goes to the shops, and in that time a youth breaks in, dresses herself up as an old biddy and has a dance around the house. The idea was to highlight how youth culture is becoming more interested in old fashioned things, such as vinyl and clothing styles etc. The audience might fear the worst of the young thug as they enter the house, but come to realise as the video goes on that not all teenagers are devlish yobs.
